Editorial standards
The rules we apply to every reading, every postmortem, every alert.
- Lender independenceWe do not accept sponsorship, ad placement, or paid content from lenders. We do not accept embargoed materials. We do not allow lenders to review pieces pre-publication.
- Composite casesPostmortems are composite. Identifying details are scrambled (unit count rounded, MSA preserved, vintage decade preserved, sponsor name removed). The financial mechanics are real.
- Two-source verificationCapital-disruption alerts require two independent sources: at least one public (SEC, FDIC, OCC, press release) and the alert never publishes on a tipline-only signal.
- Rate-quote precisionEvery rate cited carries a SOFR base reference (date + reading), origination + exit fee structure, and prepay structure. No teaser rates without context.
- No legal adviceWe are not your lawyer. We surface what operators have been signing and what's hurt them. Decisions stay with you.
- CorrectionsSee /corrections. Never silent edits.
- Author bylinesEvery analytical piece carries an author byline + contact. Editors are listed at /about.
